RDFNL Metropolitan affiliation agreement finalised

The Ontime Delivery Solutions Riddell District Football Netball League have been working with AFL Victoria to establish a new Metropolitan Affiliation Agreement and are pleased to announce this has come to fruition.
The RDFNL will be returning to the Metro environment and will be classified as a Metro league after being in the country region of AFL Goldfields for several years.
Newly appointed General Manager Jordan Doyle spoke on behalf of the RDFNL board.
‘’The League is thrilled to be affiliating directly with AFL Victoria as a ‘’Metropolitan League’’ once more,” Doyle said.
The RDFNL was categorised as a Metropolitan League up until 2012 when AFL Goldfields took over administration under the AFL Vic Country banner.
“The Board in conjunction with our Clubs thought that the time was right to move back to self-administration and a part of that was affiliating directly with AFL Victoria once more.” Doyle said.
“The RDFNL is a boutique League with a unique mix of Clubs and geographic locations, but this move gives the League flexibility moving forward.”
The League wishes to thank AFL Goldfields for their administration services from 2012-2020 and in particular the efforts of Rod Ward and Aaron Nunn.
In addition, thanks to Gerard Ryan for the last 12 months.
Finally, the RDFNL wants to acknowledge the hard work of Community Football Manager Sophie Williams at AFL Victoria and former Head of AFL Victoria and now National Community Football Manager Stephen O’Donohue who have been wonderful in their assistance of the RDFNL in making this transition.
“This is an exciting time for the RDFNL and our 24 member Clubs and this is a positive step in the right direction. Bring on 2021”.
The RDFNL looks forward to seeing community football and netball returning next year after Covid19 affected the 2020 season.
