Talking RDFNL 2021 - Riddell A Grade

It is all systems go for the Riddell Bombers with a new coach Adam Boldiston appointed last week.

Boldiston comes to the league with a huge amount of experience at all levels and will be an excellent fit for the Riddell Bombers.

They have several familiar faces returning to the court in 2021 and their trial dates are not too far away either so it's a very exciting time for the club.

Here is what Adam Boldiston had to say when we were "Talking RDFNL 2021":

Have you had any key signings for the upcoming season?

Bec Colwell is back and I am super excited to coach her as she is a player I have wanted to get my hands on for a number of years. Loz Close and Tarryn Munro (Moving from Lions) are both returning to the court from having their first babies so I look forward to getting them back up to speed and their lofty standards. Bombers have a great core group of A grade players and I am looking to fill the gaps with a couple of players I have coached in recent years...watch this space!

Who has left the club that will be difficult to replace?

Not aware of any

Have you coached in the league before and if so what do you like about the RDFNL or what has brought you to the league?

No I haven't but I am looking forward to the challenge of coaching against different coaches and players. I'm also really looking forward to the community element of the league which is something that was a little lacking at Sunbury Lions.

How has covid19 changed your 2021 season plans?

Trials are a little later than we had hoped but we should be able to confirm teams before Christmas and hit the ground running early in the new year.

During 2020 did you have any involvement with players such as at home workouts or training programs? I have only just been appointed Riddel A grade and 19s coach. I was appointed as the Victorian 20/under Mens Netball Team a few months ago so we started with some online sessions before being able to train in groups of 10 over the past month and now we can finally return to full contact court work so I have still been involved in Netball.

How do you prepare for season 2021 following the year off?

I have a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm. I took the time to think through what worked well and what didn't over the past few years and work out ways that I can improve as a coach and communicator to bring the best out in my athletes.

Who are some players to watch from your team in 2021? TBC

What are you most looking forward to in 2021?

Testing myself and my players in a new league against different players and with different umpires. Also really looking forward to the community vibe within the club and the league.

Do you have a set date for preseason following the easing of restrictions?

Trials will be held on Wednesday 9th December and Wednesday 16th December, 6.30pm-9pm at Riddells Creek Netball Courts, Sutherlands Road, Riddells Creek. All Players Welcome!
