Rupertswood EDFL transfer complete
The Ontime Delivery Solutions Riddell District Football Netball League will forge on without Rupertswood in season 2021 as a transfer to the Essendon District Football League is complete..
The AFL Victoria Objection Hearing Panel came to a conclusion on Wednesday September 9, that will see Rupertswood compete in the EDFL in season 2021.
The League is disappointed in the result, but have had plans in place for the decision to go either way says RDFNL President Brenton Knott.
"The Riddell District Football Netball League received notification from AFL Victoria last night that the League’s objection to the transfer of Rupertswood FNC to the Essendon District Football League was dismissed." Knott said,
"The RDFNL is extremely disappointed with the decision of AFL Victoria given the timing after requesting stability during a global pandemic. The RDFNL Clubs and Board have been aware of Rupertswood’s desire to transfer League’s for sometime and are prepared for 2021 without them."
The league will now turn its attention to its 2021 senior and junior competitions.
"The League will continue on with the nine senior and 15 junior club’s and will get past this disappointment and look forward to returning to community Football and Netball in 2021.’’
Rupertswood have been a successful club in the Riddell District Football Netball League and the RDFNL wish them every success in the EDFL.
