AFL Goldfields welcomes Aaron McLean
AFL Goldfields is delighted to advise the appointment of Aaron McLean as the new AFL Goldfields appointed RDFNL Administration Officer.
Aaron has been appointed to the role previously held by Michael Schang, who has left to take up a role in commercial construction.
Aaron is 29 years old and played over 100 games with the Gisborne Rookies Junior FNC in the RDJFL before playing 2 seasons at Woodend/Hesket FNC at Senior level.
Aaron volunteered with Coburg Lions in the VFL in 2016, helping out with their gameday operations, before being appointed the Club Manager with Macedon FNC as he finished off his studies.
Aaron had a broad range of duties at Macedon FNC including Treasurer, Football Operations, Communications, a shared Secretary role, and even pulling the boots on for a couple of games - but the highlight was the seeing the Club record a breakthrough senior premiership win.
In March 2018 Aaron began a role with Werribee FC in the VFL, assisting the Football Manager with various Football Operations on training and game days. He is currently the Team Manager at Werribee FC.
Aaron has a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Diploma in Sport and Recreation, but he has long desired to work in Sports Administration and is excited and passionately looking forward to servicing the RDFNL. Aaron will commence with AFL Goldfields & commence servicing the RDFNL on Monday 5th August 2019.
